1.) Wild (2014)
This movie is based off of the 2012 National Bestselling book, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. The protagonist, Cheryl Strayed, sets out on a journey after the death of her mother and dissolution of her marriage. Seeing her drop everything and head out into the unknown is inspiration enough to stir up the wanderer in us all. Throw in views of the Pacific Crest Trail and you’ll be wanting to make the trek yourself.

2.) Sideways (2004)
If you’re not a wine drinker you may consider at least making a visit to Santa Barbara Wine Country after seeing this film. The two main characters, Miles and Jack, embark on adventure to salute Jack’s final days as a bachelor. They visit vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley and get themselves tangled up in the consequences of their antics.

3.) A Good Year (2006)
The general consensus, as told by movie critics, is that this movie is not great. What it does do well is show the true beauty of Provence and its vineyards. If exploring the garrigue landscape of Provence wasn’t in your cards it may be after watching this movie. Oh, and you may wish that you will one day inherit a vineyard in a beautiful region of France.
