There are often times where believing there is more than meets the eye just proves to be more believable. Some people take that approach and apply it to every and any event that happens. A disagreement about a freak natural disaster, a terrorist attack, or even a sports team winning or losing can spark the conspiracy theorist in all of us. Cincinnati, Ohio | Black Sox Scandal

Even though Crosley Field (then Redland Field) no longer stands the scandal that took place during the 1919 World Series is still around. The teams in the nine-game series were the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox. Eight players from the White Sox were bribed with between $70,000 and $100,000 each to lose five games to three. In 1920 four of the eight admitted to a grand jury of accepting bribes to throw the 1919 World Series. They were acquitted because key evidence had disappeared from the grand jury files.
